Smoothies, smoothies, smoothies

Smoothies can be made in a flash and are easy to digest. You can use fresh or frozen fruit. I don’t like my smoothies freezing cold and neither does the stomach since cold hampers its job of digestion. So if I am using frozen fruit it put it in first and then I add hot or warm water and let it sit for a bit before adding the rest of the ingredients.

Various supplements can be added, such as whey protein powder or powdered vegetable greens or algaeĀ  (chlorella is an example). Raw Cacao powder is also high in protein. Reishi mushroom extract and other herbal extracts can be added. Plain whole yoghurt can be a good addition if you are ok with dairy.

Hmm. What sort of liquid should I use for my smoothie? Water is my favorite choice. If there is already fresh fruit, no need to add juice. Other options include almond, rice or hemp milk, coconut juice, pomegranate juice, brewed chai, ginger or other tea.
